R\u00e9sultat : les tissus ne sont plus aliment\u00e9s en oxyg\u00e8ne, et les organes commencent \u00e0 souffrir, parfois de fa\u00e7on irr\u00e9versible.<\/p><h3 class=\"article-editor-heading\">Les niveaux d\u2019exposition : combien de PPM est dangereux ?<\/h3><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Le CO se mesure en <strong>parties par million (ppm)<\/strong> dans l\u2019air. \u00c0 titre de comparaison :<\/p><ul class=\"article-editor-bullet-list\"><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>0 \u00e0 9 ppm<\/strong> : pas de sympt\u00f4mes d\u00e9tectables.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>10 \u00e0 35 ppm<\/strong> : exposition chronique possible, c\u00e9phal\u00e9es l\u00e9g\u00e8res sur le long terme.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>50 ppm<\/strong> : limite d\u2019exposition professionnelle moyenne sur 8h (selon OSHA &#8211; USA).<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>100 ppm<\/strong> : maux de t\u00eate apr\u00e8s 2 heures.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>200 ppm<\/strong> : maux de t\u00eate et naus\u00e9es apr\u00e8s 2-3 heures.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>400 ppm<\/strong> : maux de t\u00eate dans l\u2019heure, risque de perte de conscience apr\u00e8s 2-3 heures.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>800 ppm<\/strong> : perte de conscience possible en moins d\u20191h, danger vital.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>1 600 ppm<\/strong> : d\u00e9c\u00e8s possible en 1h.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>6 400 ppm<\/strong> : d\u00e9c\u00e8s en moins de 15 minutes.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">En clair : <strong>quelques centaines de ppm suffisent \u00e0 mettre une vie en danger<\/strong>, souvent sans que la personne n\u2019ait eu le temps de comprendre ce qui se passe.<\/p><h3 class=\"article-editor-heading\">Les signes cliniques \u00e0 conna\u00eetre (et \u00e0 ne pas minimiser)<\/h3><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Les sympt\u00f4mes d\u2019une intoxication au CO d\u00e9pendent de <strong>la concentration<\/strong> et de <strong>la dur\u00e9e d\u2019exposition<\/strong> :<\/p><ul class=\"article-editor-bullet-list\"><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>Forme l\u00e9g\u00e8re<\/strong> : maux de t\u00eate diffus, fatigue, naus\u00e9es, vertiges, sensation de malaise. Tr\u00e8s souvent confondue avec une grippe ou une gastro.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>Forme mod\u00e9r\u00e9e<\/strong> : troubles visuels, vomissements, confusion, difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 respirer, somnolence.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\"><strong>Forme grave<\/strong> : convulsions, perte de connaissance, coma. Le d\u00e9c\u00e8s peut survenir sans signes pr\u00e9alables.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Les enfants, les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es, les femmes enceintes et les personnes atteintes de troubles cardiaques sont particuli\u00e8rement vuln\u00e9rables.<\/p><h3 class=\"article-editor-heading\">Comment pr\u00e9venir efficacement les intoxications ?<\/h3><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">On estime que <strong>99 % des intoxications pourraient \u00eatre \u00e9vit\u00e9es<\/strong> par des mesures simples, mais rigoureuses :<\/p><h3 class=\"article-editor-heading\">1. Entretien annuel des installations \u00e0 combustion<\/h3><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Les chaudi\u00e8res, po\u00eales, inserts, chauffe-eau doivent \u00eatre entretenus <strong>par un professionnel agr\u00e9\u00e9<\/strong> chaque ann\u00e9e. Cet entretin inclut le r\u00e9glage de la combustion, la v\u00e9rification du tirage et de l\u2019\u00e9vacuation des gaz br\u00fbl\u00e9s.<\/p><h3 class=\"article-editor-heading\">2. Ventilation obligatoire et permanente<\/h3><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Toutes les pi\u00e8ces \u00e9quip\u00e9es d\u2019un appareil \u00e0 combustion doivent disposer de <strong>grilles d\u2019a\u00e9ration en haut et en bas<\/strong>, non obstru\u00e9es. Mais les services d\u2019urgence (CGDIS) confirment qu\u2019<strong>une dizaine d\u2019interventions par an<\/strong> sont directement li\u00e9es au monoxyde, souvent entre <strong>novembre et mars<\/strong>.<\/p><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Et ce sont toujours les m\u00eames causes :<\/p><ul class=\"article-editor-bullet-list\"><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Chaudi\u00e8re non entretenue,<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Chemin\u00e9e encrass\u00e9e,<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Chauffage d\u2019appoint utilis\u00e9 dans une pi\u00e8ce ferm\u00e9e,<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Grille d\u2019a\u00e9ration bouch\u00e9e,<\/p><\/li><li class=\"article-editor-list-item\"><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Barbecue ou brasero en int\u00e9rieur.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h3 class=\"article-editor-heading\">Pourquoi faut-il continuer \u00e0 sensibiliser ?<\/h3><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Parce que l\u2019intoxication au CO ne pr\u00e9vient pas. Parce qu\u2019elle tue vite. Parce qu\u2019elle laisse souvent des s\u00e9quelles neurologiques. Et parce qu\u2019elle est encore <strong>mal connue<\/strong> du grand public.<\/p><p class=\"article-editor-paragraph\">Trop de foyers ne sont <strong>pas \u00e9quip\u00e9s de d\u00e9tecteur<\/strong>. Trop de locataires pensent que \u201cce n\u2019est pas \u00e0 eux d\u2019entretenir\u201d.
